Coming Soon… The PONCHO Forum Renewal Project
This summer, Seattle Repertory Theatre will embark on its first capital project in more than two decades with the renovation of our beloved PONCHO Forum. This black-box space is in daily use for a variety of mission-driven activities—from mainstage rehearsals and new play readings to youth arts education workshops, public programs, and community engagement initiatives like Public Works Seattle. But with no significant updates since its construction in 1983, the PONCHO Forum is also woefully outdated.
The PONCHO Forum Renewal Project will bring this venue into the 21st century with state-of-the-art new theatrical sound and lighting systems, and audiovisual capabilities to ensure artists have the tools that they need to create theatre of the highest caliber; and for audiences and patrons, there will be a new flexible seating unit and a gorgeous window installed that will open up our artistic process to observers outside.
At the center of all art is the infrastructure to help support it. With construction launching this June and expected to wrap up in September, Seattle Rep expects to welcome our community of artists and audiences back into the transformed PONCHO Forum this fall.
Name a Seat!
Bestowing your name on a PONCHO seat is a physical testament to your support of Seattle Repertory Theatre and the mission-driven programs that take place within this vital space. Often called the “heart of Seattle Rep,” the PONCHO touches nearly every production that makes its way onto our stages—whether it’s through first production table-reads, rehearsals, or workshops. It’s also the home for all of our new play development readings and workshops, the main gathering space for Public Works Seattle participants, a rehearsal room for August Wilson Monologue Competition students, and our primary public events space.
Our blackbox theatre only has 97 seats available for naming, available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Naming a seat is a great way to support all the work of our theatre and to leave a lasting legacy.
$3,500 – Preferred Seating Location
$1,800 – General Location
Monthly or quarterly payment plans are available. If you are interested in naming a seat, please contact Anna Strickland, Donor Stewardship Associate, at email@example.com or 206.443.2202 x1163.
Don’t want to name a seat, but still want to support the theatre? You can make a gift to the Rep in any amount! Visit www.seattlerep.org/donate to make a donation today.
